At every opportunity I get on the ferry or train back into Liverpool town centre for a pint. Locals include Rigby's Post office Wine Lodge Charlotte Street Pen and Wig Beehive I lived in Oz 1990 for two years and had to come back home, No place like home, it doesn't rain in the pub... Name: Eve Johnston Town: Kamloops, British Columbia Email: evejohnston excite. Trips home are fine and I have even investigated the possibility of returning, too expensive for me. I really wish my children had been raised in Liverpool, they are alien to me at times and definitely lack a sense of humour, poor things! I have a daughter in Perth, Western Australia and would really love to have contact with any expats from the Pool. Have stayed with her in S. Perth twice now, its lovely there, but she is not the best communicator, too busy!! So any one in Perth from Liverpool please if you want to communicate any way, write, email, put a note out on this board. Not sure whether its ticketyboo to put email addresses or not but will find out. Eve Johnston Name: cliffy dawson. Town: birkenhead Comment: Hi Folks, hello to all scousers out there. I just stumbled on this site by accident, what a cracker it is. I am originally from the North End of Birkenhead, lived in New Brighton for a couple of years then decided to emigrate to Brisbane Australia. I came over here with my wife and three kids for a better life. We have lived here for 12 years now but it only seems like we arrived yesterday, i really don't know where the years have gone. Although we do love it here we will never forget the people from back home or the great sense of humour every scouser seems to posses. I used to hang around with some great characters, real 'eadcases. I must admit i do miss the football, the laughs, the good social life pubs clubs etc. I would be glad to hear from anyone from merseyside who might remember me. I used to drink in The Bidston Hotel Th! COMET, The Shamrock and The North Star in the north end. I played football for Our Lady's Simon V. The Blue Bell and other teams in Birkenhead. I would really enjoy hearing from anyone who thinks they may know me. Once again great website, it gives us scousers or woolie backs a chance to connectup the REDS oh,and TRANMERE ROVERS Name: Avril Higginson Town: Toronto, Canada Email: avrilhigginson16 hotmail. The correct e-mail is avrilhigginson16 hotmail. Apparently there are more than one me! Name: Avril Higginson Town: Toronto, Canada Comment: To: KIM O'DONNELL I attended Gateacre Comp. It is wonderful that I have found this Liverpudlian expat site. I have been living in Toronto since 1976. I still get very home sick probably because I miss my family so much, plus the amazing sense of humour of Scousers. I think I may have lost my sense of humour here! I will be in Liverpool for part of July and August 2002. I will be able to see my mum, sister, brothers and all of the other relatives that I have and I am sure to have a great laugh again! And have some fish and chips. Avril Name: Bob Taylor Town: New Liskeard Ontario, Canada Comment: I am a former Wallasey boy, ex Wallasey and Liverpool City police. I feel like somewhat of an oddity after reading the mails. For me, leaving Merseyside was a very easy decision. I just couldn't see any future for my children. Industry on merseyside was a continual round of strikes, jobs were at a premium, and at that time both Wallasey and Liverpool were both decaying. I have never regretted our move, and while I have fond memories of the Merseyside where I grew up, home is right here. It is great to get back for a holiday, and too see our relatives still in Britain, but the feeling I get as the wheels of the aircraft touch down on the runway at Toronto International, is one of happiness rather than sorrow. Would love to hear from any of the gang I grew up with, Dave Garner, the Barber and Boyd families, and Anne Snow who lived on Seabank Road in New Brighton.
